Xero - Setup & usage

Connect a Xero organisation to sync financial KPIs such as revenue, expenses, cash position, and other accounting metrics exposed as data points. Requires [Business+] and Xero user access to the target organisation.

Before you connect

  • You need login access to the Xero organisation (tenant) you want to measure.

  • Elevale connects via OAuth; you approve access on Xero's consent screen.

  • Platform OAuth credentials must be configured by your administrator - if Connect fails immediately with a configuration error, contact support.

Connect Xero

  • Open Workspace Settings → Integrations and connect Xero.

  • Log in to Xero and authorise the connection.

  • Xero may ask which organisation (tenant) to link - choose the one you report against.

  • The connection appears under Connected integrations when active.

Create financial KPIs

  • Add a connected KPI and select your Xero connection.

  • Choose a financial data point from the catalog (exact metrics depend on enabled endpoints).

  • Pick a sync schedule - monthly or quarterly suits many finance KPIs; daily is available where supported.

  • After save, review the KPI history chart for the first synced value.

Token refresh and disconnect

  • Xero connections refresh automatically while tokens remain valid.

  • If Xero shows re-authorisation required on the KPI or connection, reconnect via Integrations.

  • Disconnect to revoke access; synced historical KPI entries remain until removed.

  • Xero connections may not expose a manual Edit action in the UI - disconnect and reconnect to change tenants.

Troubleshooting

  • Configuration error on Connect - platform Xero OAuth app not set up; contact your Elevale administrator.

  • Wrong organisation - disconnect and reconnect, selecting the correct Xero tenant.

  • Sync failed - check connection status message; reconnect if tokens expired or user access was removed in Xero.
