Metrics you can track

Connected KPIs can sync the following categories from GitHub. See Data points for the complete catalog with descriptions.

  • Code Quality: Commit Frequency, Contributor Participation

  • Commit Activity: Active Contributors, Code Additions, Code Deletions, Monthly Commits, Total Contributors (+1 more)

  • Deployments: Active Deployments, Failed Deployments, Failed Workflow Runs, Successful Deployments

  • Issues: Avg Issue Close Time, Closed Issues, Issue Close Rate, Open Issues (Excluding PRs)

  • Organization Metrics: Organization Contributors, Organization Open Issues, Organization Open PRs, Organization Total Forks, Organization Total Repositories (+2 more)

  • Pull Requests: Avg PR Merge Time, Closed Pull Requests, Draft Pull Requests, Merged Pull Requests, Open Pull Requests

  • Releases: Latest Release Downloads, Releases This Period, Total Releases

Quick start

  • Open Workspace Settings → Integrations and connect GitHub.

  • Complete authentication (OAuth popup, PAT paste, or API key) and select the account, property, repo, or location when prompted.

  • On KPIs & Dashboards, create a KPI, choose Connected, and pick your GitHub connection.

  • Select a data point from the catalog (see the Data points article in this folder for the full list).

  • Set a sync frequency. An initial sync runs after save; use Resync on the KPI card for on-demand updates.

Connection type

  • PAT - paste a GitHub fine-grained token; Elevale validates before saving.

  • No OAuth popup - tokens are encrypted server-side after validation.
